A few weeks ago our partners at Team One held a Force On Force RedMan Instructor Suit Training. Conducted by Raymond Merlin, this training prepares instructors to provide safe and realistic training within their own agencies by taking them through a wide variety of drills that use RedMan training gear. They also learn the appropriate instructional methods for tactical isolation exercises and scenarios in realistic training.
Instructor Background: Raymond Merlin was the instructor for this training. He served In the United States Marine Corps for 4 years in both security forces and infantry, and has over 26 years with the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department (WI). Ray has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Human Resource from Concordia University, and is also a Master Instructor-Trainer in Defense and Arrest Tactics, Principles of Subject Control, Firearms, Professional Communications, and Scenario Master Instructor. Additionally, he serves on advisory committees for the State of Wisconsin Training and Standards and is currently on the Tactical Advisory Committee for the State DOJ Training and Standards. Ray is a ILEETA Advisory Board member, an adjunct instruct and training coordinator for LE Training Division at Gateway Technical College-WI, and an expert witness in Use of Force and Subject Control.
